Collectivization
Notes:
- Collectivization - all peasants were to work on collective farms
- Called Kolkhoz, all land was pooled together
- Party officials monitored their output
- By 1932 62% of all peasants collectivized
- Kulaks wealthier peasants who owned their own farms - had the most to lose there for resistance by burning crops or walking away because of this
- They were killed or sent to Gulags in Siberia
- Seen as a threat to collectivization due to their free enterprise ideals
SUMMARY :
Stalin started to focus on collectivization of agriculture-> his main thought was to increase the agricultural output of large-scale farms. However, he continued to set unrealistic/ unreachable goals. Which inturn made the living standards drop, he impacted the country in a more negative way compared to a positive.
