Abdication of the Tsar - Feb./March Revolution
Notes:
- Began with riots and strikes in Petrograd- St.Petersburg changed to Petrograd and then to leningrad and then back to St. Petersburg
- Feb.(March->Russians on Gregorian calendar therefore for them it took place in March where as rest of the world was in February) revolution ousted the Tsar (abdication)-> When a king gives up his thrown
- Aimed to replace him with a Provisional Government
SUMMARY :
The revolution in February and March (Russian calendar) was the first of two revolutions. The February revolution started with strikes and riots in Petrograd. Today know as St. Petersburg. Revolution was provoked by Russian military losses but also the citizens discomfort for how their country was being run.
